Local Plan Housing Data

Housing growth development location data for England, Scotland and Wales

Home: Welcome

The location and scale of planned housing growth is a vital consideration when developing investment and business strategies and when service or resource planning.

Our Consilium Local Plan Housing Database provides insights on not only where, but when housing growth is planned areas across Great Britain.

The Edge Analytics Consilium database provides comprehensive and consistent coverage of Local Plan housing evidence for all local planning authorities in England, Scotland and Wales.

Data is continually collected from the local planning authorities and central government and is organised into the following categories at local planning authority-level:

  • Historical housing completions

  • Estimates levels of housing need

  • Identified housing requirements

  • Housing land supply availability

  • Expected housing delivery trajectory.

The specific sites that contribute to an authority’s land supply and housing trajectory are identified, geocoded and quality assured by our team of data experts:

  • Site location, including address/postcode and geocoded XY coordinates

  • Local Plan site references and/or planning application references

  • Site area

  • Total site capacity (residential)

  • Annual phasing of planned housing delivery

  • Site owner and/or developer

  • Brownfield site status

The Consilium data provides an up-to-date, consistent picture of housing growth plans across England, Scotland and Wales right down to a local-level.

The Local Plan Housing Data is delivered via database extracts (.csv) and/or via Microsoft Power-BI reports.

Initially developed to meet the need for high-quality, consistent micro-location housing plan evidence to inform population forecasting for the water industry, Consilium Local Plan housing data is now used by clients across a range of sectors, including utilities, retail and construction.
